Yesterday was a good day, with a character making its first appearance as minifigure ever. Will today be as good? With a minifigure yesterday, I’m expecting a normal model. Instead of rambling on, I better open the calendar and see what is behind today’s door…
As foreshadowed in my post yesterday, we did indeed get an interior model from the Hog’s Head inn, a nice continuation from getting Aberforth Dumbledore yesterday.

With 11 parts (including two spares), this is in the lower end of what to expect for an advent calendar. But in reflection, we’ve had quite low part counts most days so far compared to say last year. I may try and do some comparison with previous years in a coming post.
With only 9 parts used, it is super-quick to build – giving you a small table with a candle and a glass bottle on it.

I have praised the previous interior models for the colour schemes matching the locations well. Guess the brown/dark brown scheme is a good fit for Hog’s Head, though not super exiting. But anything else would probably not have worked. So a tick for colour scheme this time as well.
Pretty boring execution though, in my opinion.
In terms of parts, I used to get excited when the model included a candle, but it is years ago it was something new and exciting (first discussed the new candle piece in 2018 here) and I’m probably more happy for the bottle being there this time. But overall, nothing really to be excited over in terms of parts.
Summary
Yesterday was great. As for today’s model, it is a mixed bag really. It is a nice continuation of yesterday’s model, and the colour scheme/style is right for Hog’s Head. But this is yet another low part count model, without much excitement. No interesting elements – and a rather simple construction. So while there are plusses, I’ve decided to award it just 2.5 out of 5 house points.
I am pretty sure tomorrow’s model again will be related to Hog’s Head. Hopefully a more interesting and/or substantial model than today, but time will tell. Check back tomorrow on the 2023 Advent Calendar page to see what we got.
