With only a few months till the March 2024 wave of sets, I better get a few more 2023 sets reviewed. This time, I'll take a closer look at the set covering the second challenge in the Goblet of Fire movie. I have the original set from 2005 - so I am very curious to see how this stacks up...
I've been building a series of MOCs lately to cover different scenes from the Goblet of Fire, including the Second Challenge of the Tri-wizard Tournament. The Rescue from the Merpeople set from 2005 gave us contestants Harry Potter and Viktor Krum. The other two contestants, Fleur Delacour and Cedric Diggory were however not included in the set, and both used the bubble-head charm to help them. This is how I added them...
In this post I'm continuing with my discussion of magical creatures in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and their representation in LEGO. This time I dive (literary) into the Great Lake, the big lake next to Hogwarts, to see what I can find out about the Merpeople.
While most of the 2019 Lego Harry Potter sets represent scenes that previous sets have covered, this one is refreshingly new, and in many ways it fills some gaps in what other sets have provided. The price point is quite high though, so how does it stack up?
