Two new Hogwarts Moment sets – Official photos revealed

LEGO has updated its website with pictures and information about the new sets coming in the next few months. Four of the sets are from the Harry Potter theme and listed as available from 1 March 2022. Here I will discuss the two new Hogwarts Moment sets…

Four new LEGO Harry Potter sets are due 1 March 2022. We have now got official photos and product information about them. The sets are covered in the following posts:

In 2021 we got four Hogwarts Moments sets – one for each of the four Hogwarts houses, with the head of the house and two students included in each set. Built as a book that could be opened and turned into a classroom, they proved popular, and it is not surprising to see two new sets in the series.

Hogwarts Moment: Divination Class

Set 76396

Price: US$29.99, £24.99, €29.99, CA$39.99, AU$49.99, NZ$54.99, DKK 269.95

Divination was one of Harry’s least favourite subjects, but the setting is perfect for a Harry Potter set with the colourful classroom and rather unique teacher.

The set includes Professor Trelawny (of course) as well as Harry Potter, who didn’t like the classes at all, and Parvati Patil, who on the other side loved divination.

To help the students foresee the future, a crystal ball is included, along with a printed tile about the Grim for the divination textbook that comes with the set.

It is better seen on the photo below. So now you can recreate the tea-leaves reading session, where Trelawney saw the Grim — a well-known omen of death — in Harry Potter’s tea cup.

Here you can see the class-room folded out. I think the colours are great, but maybe they have overdone the teacups.

As with the other Hogwarts Moment sets, you can fold up the set into a book for storage.

Hogwarts Moment: Defence Lesson

Set 76397

Price: US$29.99, £24.99, €29.99, CA$39.99, AU$49.99, NZ$54.99, DKK 269.95

Defence Against the Dark Arts (often abbreviated to DADA) was one of many subjects taught at Hogwarts.

During Harry’s seven years at the school, it had a different teacher each year. This set covers Harry’s fourth year, with Professor “Madeye” Moody as the teacher (or at least they thought it was him). Along with Professor Moody, the set comes with Neville Longbottom and Hermione Granger.

The minifigure torsos with printed Gryffindor robes used for Neville and Hermione are the same as used for Harry and Parvati in the Divination Class set.

A spider is also included – as Moody used them to demonstrate the effects of the three unforgivable curses in the first lesson he gave the Gryffindor students in their fourth year at Hogwarts.

As all other Hogwarts Moment sets, the Defence Class set comes with a book with a printed tile. In this set, the tile explains the dark mark, which featured throughout the Goblet of Fire.

You can transform Moody into Bartemius Crouch Junior, who was impersonating him.

There is even a trunk for the real Moody to be kept prisoner in.

Here you can see the class-room folded out. I think it captures well the place where defence against the dark arts was taught. It includes different gadgets, such as a Sneakoscope, to tell if trouble is coming, potion glasses and a blackboard, where Professor Moody is about to list the three unforgivable curses. A divider wall separates the classroom from Moody’s office.

As with the other Hogwarts Moment sets, you can fold up the set into a book for storage.

Overall, these two books are perfect supplements to the four books we got last year. It will be interesting to see if more will be coming next year, though the most interesting subjects would have been covered by now. But maybe Astronomy and History of Magic?

Time will tell if more sets are coming.

Till then, Build the Magic!

  1. Great to see new sets/books coming. Assuming you are doing reviews later this year, could you please compare these sets with older ones, especially the figures and the clock tower set 🙂
