REVIEW: Advent calendar 2 December 2023

The first model was Harry Potter – similar to what we got in both 2019 and 2020. Normally, after a minifigure, we would get something different for another day or two. But what will it be today? And how many house points will it get? Read on to see…

Time to open the second door. As expected, this is wasn’t a minifigure – but a bag of parts.

For those who haven’t had an Advent Calendar before, the instructions for the build is at the back of the door.

With 11 parts (two of which are spares), it is in the small end of builds when it comes to part count (and size too, as most parts are pretty small). The printed 1×1 brick for Bertie Botts every flavour beans is a nice inclusion though.

The build is quickly assembled from the instructions, and gives you a nice stand with sweets from the famours Honeydukes shop. In addition to the Bertie Botts jelly beans, there is a chocolate frog and an ice cream.

Summary

It was a decent model. Quite low in terms of part count (but I know it can be worse). The printed part is good though and the design and colour scheme works well. Similar to yesterday, I will therefore award a score slightly above average, with 3.5 out of five house points.

What will we get on 3 December? Another model for Honeydukes? Or one for one of the other shops shown on the calendar? Check back tomorrow to see on the 2023 Advent Calendar page.

Till then, Build the Magic!
