From the warmth of Honeydukes, yesterday’s model took us out back on to the cold snow-covered streets of Hogsmeade. Will today give us more landscape for the snow? Or will we finally get another character (hopefully dressed for the weather) to keep Harry company? Read on to see what we got…
Harry finally got company – as today’s gift is Ron. And yes, he is well dressed for the weather indeed!

I did the “build in the bag” challenge the other day. Decided to do it again today – knowing that the minifigure is rather easy (though getting the head aligned can sometimes be challenging) – but getting the wand in the hand could be tricky. It all went smoothly though and was quickly done.

The figure itself is good, with a nice dual-moulded (two-colour) hairpiece and very detailed printing for the torso. As we would expect from a minifigure these days, both head and torso are printed on both sides.

Compared with the dress the trio was wearing for the “snow-fight” scene around the Shrieking Shack, we see that while the torso print is a great representation of Ron’s jacket, the headpiece isn’t quite correct. I guess it was the closest they got, and it works okay as a “close-ish” match.

Summary
It is a good minifigure. I like the detail on the torso print and while the beanie doesn’t quite match the one Ron was wearing on the day, I will still give today’s model four out of five house points.
Finally, Harry got some company. What will we get tomorrow? More sweets maybe – as with Ron around they will soon run out? Or maybe another outdoor model? Check back tomorrow to see on the 2023 Advent Calendar page to see what we got.
Till then, Build the Magic!
