REVIEW: Advent calendar 9 December 2023

Yesterday, we were back on the snow-covered main street of Hogsmeade. A sign was showing the way to Hogwarts. Is that a sign of what to come today? Or maybe a minifigure, as it has been a while since the last one? Read on to see what we got…

We did get another minifigure! And this time it is Hermione that smiles to us through the plastic bag. And quite a sizeable plastic bag for those few minifigure parts.

Below, you can see the assembled minifigure, As seen, it included a wand, which was the only accessory (in line with the previous figures that we got). The torso and head are printed on both sides, with a good amount of detail on both. But the real star is the combined hair/beanie piece.

Combined with the models we got 1 December (Harry) and 5 December (Ron), we now have the full trio pictured below. And in particular Hermione is a perfect recreation of her appearance in the movie.

Summary

Today’s model is the best I can think of – though light on in terms of accessories. So I will award the first top score of five out of five house points. Maybe not surprising that it is Hermione, who is used to top grades, that first get that score…

With a minifigure today, I wonder what we will get tomorrow? We’ve had two series of first a minifigure, followed by two indoor models and then an outdoor one. So I think we may get something for one of the remaining buildings. But which one – and what will it be? Time will tell. Check back tomorrow to see what we got.
