REVIEW: Advent calendar 11 December 2023

I can’t believe we’re almost half way through the calendar. December is going super-quick. I wonder what we will get today? We still have two empty buildings, so it could be something for those, but maybe we’ll stay outdoor similar to yesterday. Read on to see what we got…

We are still out in the cold – so I guess this is the theme for this round of “in-between” minifigure models. With only seven parts, it will be the smallest model so far – excluding the minifigures of course.

But all the parts are used in this case. As none of the parts are really small, and we got two printed parts – an envelope and an owl – is is a pretty good day.

The model is a letter box in the snow and is a super-quick build.

Here is a close-up of the finished model with some better lighting.

Summary

Today was a pretty decent day and a step up from yesterday’s underwhelming tree for sure. The two printed parts are nice, and really makes the model fit a wizarding village compared to not having them. But the grey colour of the letter box itself isn’t that interesting, but not sure a bright red one would have worked either. Overall, due to the owl in particular – and the connection to the wizarding world, I will give today’s model four out of five house points.

What will we get tomorrow? I am thinking another outdoor model might be a good guess, but I have been surprised before. Check back tomorrow on the 2023 Advent Calendar page to see what we got.

Till then, Build the Magic!

  1. I agree! My favorite builds so far have been the ‘wanted’ poster post, the sign post and the owl post box. They really add nice details to the Hogsmeade street scene.
