We have only a few more days to go before we’re finished with this year’s advent calendar. I hope for a strong finish and some festive models to help us finding the true Christmas spirit. So with great anticipation, I open door 22…
Hmmm, not a lot to work with today. Only six parts (none of which were spares) – so another “low” day when it comes to part count, though a few of them are quite large.

A low part count doesn’t matter as much if the model is good. So let’s see what we get when putting the parts together…

The end result is a park bench with some snow that has drifted up along one side. Simple, reasonably effective and fits quite well with the other models and calendar theme. But at the same time rather underwhelming and uninspiring. Maybe the addition of some greenery that emerge from the snow would have brightened it up a bit? Or it could have been combined with the quite disappointing lamp post we got on 16 December.
Summary
With only a few models left, I had hoped for something more substantial today. As noted above, it is an okay model as such, but definitely below average too. As result, I’ll give it 2 out of five house points.
To put a positive angle on this, there’s a good change (I really hope) that tomorrow will be better. I’m pretty sure we’ll see another outdoor model, but what will that be? Check back tomorrow on the 2023 Advent Calendar page to see what we got.
Till then, Build the Magic!
