Yesterday wasn’t a cracker – well, actually it was, but not the way I wanted it to be. Ah well, hopefully today will be better. Are we due for another minifigure? Or maybe some other weird filler? Read on to see what we got…
It was indeed time for another minifigure – and the colours reveal that this time we are getting a Hufflepuff.

Today’s figure is Susan Bones, who started at Hogwarts at the same time as Harry, and was sorted into Hufflepuff.

As minifigure, we first met Susan Bones in the Hogwarts Great Hall set from 2018. That was the actually the first time we actually got a Hufflepuff student represented as a minifigure, as the 2001 to 2011 sets focused on Gryffindor and Slytherin only (apart from one appearance of Luna Lovegood in 2010). But we did also get Susan Bones rather recently again in the 2023 Hufflepuff House Banner set. So while a somewhat rare character, many may have her from that recent set in a rather identical appearance (apart from the torso print).

The figure is very similar to Harry (1 Dec) and Draco (6 Dec) we’ve got earlier, with same torso design, just different colours representing Hufflepuff.
Overall another decent figure, and always great to see a Hufflepuff in the mix.
As with Harry and Draco, we also get the four bricks needed to build the base of the Hufflepuff statue.

It is a nice printed tile on that base and Susan seems to be happy with it overall too.

Summary
It is a good minifigure, with the usual high-quality (if generic) printing and a person that we won’t have too many copies of already (unlike Harry, Ron and Hermione). Together with also getting the stand and the nicely printed badger on the tile, I will therefore give today’s model four out of five house points.
Now we got students at three out of four tables. What will we get tomorrow? I think the rest of the Hufflepuff statue might be a safe guess, but then again, I’ve been wrong a lot this year. So be sure to check back tomorrow on the 2024 Advent Calendar page to see what we got.
Till then, Build the Magic!
