Professors of Hogwarts: New 2022 Brickheadz set revealed

Yesterday, we learned about an upcoming the LEGO Harry Potter polybag. But that was not the only piece of news, as LEGO’s website was also updated to include a new Brickheadz set covering no less that four iconic Hogwarts professors. This is what we get…

Set: 40560 – Professors of Hogwarts™

Price: US$39.99, £39.99, €39.99, DKK 349

We’ve seen a number of Harry Potter themed Brickheadz sets in recent years. They seem to be popular collectors items, so it is not surprising to see another one this year.

A total of six Brickheadz sets in the Harry Potter series have previously been released. My reviews of them are available here:

• 40495: Harry, Hermione, Ron & Hagrid

The last two sets seemed to be a new series, with one of the sets in particular re-releasing four figures which had previously been covered (Harry, Hermione, Ron & Hagrid). The four characters included in this set are however all new. We will be getting:

• Professor Snape,
• Professor McGonagall
• Professor Moody
• Professor Trelawny

Those are four very iconic characters, which are well recreated and recognisable in their Brickheadz form as seen below.

The new set is listed to be available from June 2022 – expectedly to align with the dates the next wave of sets are due (1 June in most of the world, but North America is later in the month).

This is the first Harry Potter themed Brickheadz set to feature four full-sized figures. With 601 pieces it is also the largest to have been released. In comparison, the 2021 set Harry, Hermione, Ron & Hagrid (set 40495) had Hagrid in full size, but the three students in smaller scale (3 studs wide). That set had 466 pieces (for a price of US$24.99) or while the slightly smaller set 40496 had 344 pieces (and also costed US$24.99). So quite a step up in price, but also in piece count.

It is good to get these extra characters. We already have Professor Dumbledore and two versions of Hagrid, so now we will have six Hogwarts teachers covered in the series. Will we get more teachers later in the year – or maybe next? Personally I’d really like Dobby though. It will be interesting to see where LEGO takes this next.
