Yesterday was good. Would the second model from the Half-blood Prince stack up to this today? Read on to see what we got…
17 December model
Opening the door, I could see this was a day with low piece count. Really low actually…

Opening the plastic bag, the count was depressing: only 8 pieces of which two turned out to be spares. That’s the lowest yet in this year’s advent calendar.
As for the model, it’s Dumbledore’s pensive. It did play a significant role in the movie with it being used to see Slughorn’s memory of how he has told Tom Riddle about horcruxes.
Here is how it was built (almost meaningless to allow step by step).

Summary
We have seen several pensieves in LEGO before and this one doesn’t really stand out. Had the transparent blue piece been printed with swirly patterns, i might have been moderately impressed. But as it stands, I can not give it any more than 2 out of 5 house points.
With yesterday’s model partly being a minifigure, I wonder if we will get a normal model tomorrow rather than a figure? Time will tell. Be sure to check back on the 2022 Advent Calendar page tomorrow to see what we got…
Till then, Build the Magic!

You are being very generous. I give this 1 house point.

Yeah, in hindsight I think I have been too generous

Yes I agree! Yesterday’s one was totally amazing, but this one is a bit disappointing. Looking forward to a minifigure for tomorrow!
