We’ve reached the second last day today! Yesterday’s model was great – will today’s be just as good? Read on to see what we got…
Yesterday’s model of Gringotts Bank with the escaping dragon was great. So it’s with excitement that I open the calendar again today.
23 December model
Being today’s door was another sizeable bag with LEGO parts.
It’s a model of Hogwarts Express waiting at Platform 9 3/4 at King’s Cross station. Given it was shown on the box, it wasn’t too much of a surprise even though I’ve tried not to look at the box unnecessarily.
With 28 pieces today, even with six of them being spares, it’s still a bigger and somewhat complex model to build. Below you can see how to build it step-by-step.
The completed model is looking really nice and resembles this year’s exclusive D2C set with the Hogwarts Express. You can read about that set here (I’m currently building it, so my review is not quite ready yet).
Instead, I’ll show a photo of my own King’s Cross station, which I’ve covered in this post.
There have been some pretty nice builds lately (though Hedwig was a disappointment) and today was no difference. Assuming (or hoping) that we’ll get another minifigure tomorrow, it was a great model to finish with – representing the end scene of the movies. The model looks really good and has a high piece count, so I’ll award it close to a maximum score, with 4.5 out of 5 house points.
That makes it 23 days without a single Christmas related model. I don’t think tomorrow will change that, but I’m hoping for a strong finish, whatever that may be. Be sure to check back on the 2022 Advent Calendar page tomorrow to see what we got…
Till then, Build the Magic!
