Statues of three Hogwarts houses are filling up the Great hall. Probably too early to get the fourth, but what will we get instead? Another table maybe? Read on to see what we got…
Been travelling with work the last few days and it is therefore quite a bit later than usual that I both got to opening the calendar and posting this daily review. Was it worth the wait, though?
Today’s bag reveal another table for the Great Hall (for once I was right). The dark red 2×4 plate indicates this is the Gryffindor table (after some confusion, I initially thought the table we got 3 December was for Gryffindor).

Overall, we got 20 pieces, where five a spares, making this the model with the most parts to date this year.
The table itself is not too exciting having built two others already (with just the colour of the table top differing). But the items on the table are actually pretty cool.
Most prominent is the set of wizard chess (well, a small version with a 2×2 square, but still easily recognised as a chessboard. Great for the chess-loving Gryffindor students.

We also get a glass of butterbeer (great piece, which also featured in last year’s advent calendar) and small chocolate frog card tile, which is relatively new and otherwise only found in rather expensive sets. And even better – there is a second one included as a spare.
It is a small tile, probably much better in scale for minifigures than the 2×2 collectable wizard card tiles we got some years back.
Finally Harry got his own table, having snacked cookies from the Hufflepuff table for several days.

Summary
I did quite like the Ravenclaw table, also because of a rather high part count, and some cool items on top. This is a similar situation with another table with many interesting parts on top, and also included as spares (a chocolate frog wizard card and two chess pieces). As result, I’ll give it a high score of 4.5 out of five house points.
We are not half way yet, but the Great Hall is starting to get rather full. Wonder how it will look on 24 December. Time will well, I guess. Let’s focus on tomorrow first where I think we may be due for another kind of Christmas accessory (following the logic that we’ve got three minifigures, three tables, three statues but only two “Christmas accessories”: The Christmas tree and the Christmas crackers). But I’m probably over-thinking it, so it could be very different. Check back tomorrow on the 2024 Advent Calendar page to see what we got.
Till then, Build the Magic!

At the end of the calendar, do you try to create a bonus accessory/model with all of the spare parts? It’s a rather interesting challenge given the types of spare pieces
