REVIEW: Hogwarts Fluffy Encounter

The mid-2021 wave of Harry Potter sets celebrate the 20th anniversary of LEGO Harry Potter. This includes a set with Fluffy the three headed dog, which in many ways is similar to the Forbidden Corridor set released back in 2001. This is a nice homage to the origin of the theme, but how does it stack up as a set otherwise? Luckily LEGO has sent me an advance copy to review, so read on to see what you'll get...

REVIEW: Hogsmeade Village Visit

Along with Hogwarts and Diagon Alley, Hogsmeade is one of the iconic locations from the Harry Potter universe one would expect to see in a Harry Potter theme park. It is therefore surprising that we haven't seen any sets with Hogsmeade since 2004. Luckily the 2021 wave of sets includes an excellent Hogsmeade set, which I've been sent to review. Here is what you get...

REVIEW: Hogwarts Polyjuice Potion Mistake

Some scenes really beg to be turned into LEGO sets. Hermione's accidental transformation into a cat following drinking polyjuice is in my opinion one of them, so it is therefore surprising that there should go 20 years before we got a set that represented that small mishap. LEGO has kindly sent me a copy of the set in advance to provide you with a review of this nice little set. Here's what you get...

Since they have added additional modules, allowing fans to build an impressive castle. For some reason, I have reviewed all the other modules but the Great Hall set itself. It is time to correct this - in particular as this set is expected to be retired mid 2021...

20 years of LEGO Harry Potter – Part 2

The first wave of LEGO Harry Potter sets hit the shops in 2001 coinciding with the release of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (or Sorcerer’s Stone, as it was released as in USA). This is the second and last post discussing the early days of LEGO Harry Potter to mark the 20th anniversary of the theme. Let’s grab our time turners and travel back in time together…

New brick built LEGO Harry Potter sets revealed

In 2020, LEGO surprised us (well, at least me) with the release of Hedwig. Not being minifigure scale, this model was designed for display by Harry Potter fans, maybe building on the success of the Brickheadz series of figures. The set seems to have sold well, because in 2021 we will two new such sets. Read on for details...
