REVIEW – Advent calendar 20 December

Friday – almost weekend, and Christmas not far away. There are a few busy days ahead getting the house ready for Christmas, fill up the fridge with food, buy last minute presents, etc. But first the December morning ritual – sitting down opening the calendar, wondering what it may have for you today. And actually, today was a bit of a surprise…

20 December model review

Now, surprises can be good – and I think this is one of the better ones.

The main surprise was that I initially didn’t know what it was. My first guess of it being a table for the chess board was quickly proven wrong as way too high. After a bit of speculation though (this post may give a hint), I think I know it now, but won’t spoil the surprise for others.

But let’s have a look at it…

The thing that in particular is making this a positive surprise is the four printed tiles, one for each of the Hogwarts houses. Yes, nicely printed tiles – no strickers. These parts are brand new – very useful for building your own models, and probably only otherwise available in the recent Harry Potter Build your own Adventure book.

Building the model, you are left with a stand, with the four houses shown on each side. I’m sure tomorrow will tell us for what.

For now, I’ve put it in front of everything else in the Great Hall. Harry, Ron, Hermione, Flitwick and McGonagall  are all waiting in excitement to learn what will come on top.

As for scoring, it is hard, only getting half a model. Due to the nicely printed tiles, I will however award it four out of five House points. I hope tomorrow will not disappoint me. You can check the review page again to see how it went.

Till then, Build the Magic!
