The Hogwarts Icons Collectors’ Edition set is probably one of the most sought after sets this year. Unfortunately, shipping challenges seems to have upset the plans for its release in North America, so it now launches two weeks later than planned…
The upcoming Hogwarts Icons Collectors’ Edition is in my opinion one of the most beautiful LEGO sets ever made (see my review here). It was scheduled for a global launch on September 2nd. However, the following message ticked in from LEGO overnight:
The LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Icons Collectors’ Edition will now launch on September 15th in the US, Canada, and Mexico, rather than September 2nd as originally planned due to a shipping delay in the US.
The set will be available for online only pre-order at LEGO.com beginning September 2nd. The product will be available in LEGO Retail stores on September 15th.
So the launch date should still be September 2nd outside North America. This is of course disappointing for those in North America having hoped to get this set early, but from friends working in shipping, I know there are major challenges moving stuff around the globe these days.
It is a shame it will miss the alignment with the “Back to Hogwarts” day in North America. But remember we should still see the 2021 LEGO Harry Potter Advent Calendar becoming available September 1st. Also, we are running a Back to Hogwarts MOC competition here at Blockwarts with entries due September 1st as well. Check the competition post for details. I hope to see some great entries.
Till then, Build the Magic!
