LEGO CON 2022 – what to expect…

LEGO CON 2022 is taking place Saturday 18th of June. This is a free online streaming event beginning at 5pm London time, 12noon New York Times and 9am in Los Angeles. One agenda item feature Harry Potter…

LEGO CON was introduced last year in the wake is cancellations is physical events. The event last year saw mixed reception, with relatively few product announcements or other breaking news. It did have some Harry Potter content though, including two of the LEGO Harry Potter designers Djordje Djordjevic and Marcos Bessa (both worked on the huge Diagon Alley set from 2020) competing in who could build the Hogwarts Chamber of Secrets set in the fastest time. You can see that video below.

The schedule for this year suggests there will be more set reveals this year, though no one are listed for Harry Potter (but maybe they have some surprises).

What to expect from LEGO CON 2022

Here are some of the things to expect in this year’s LEGO CON:

  • Exclusive LEGO Masters live show
  • A magical tour of the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter
  • Latest news from LEGO Games
  • Interviews with LEGO designers
  • Masterclass from inside Pixar™ Animation Studios

LEGO will also be kicking off the celebrations for its 90th anniversary (I’d expect some set reveals there) and for the first time have a LEGO CON Newsdesk to bring you the latest news straight from LEGO House.

You can watch the official LEGO CON trailer below.

Here is the official program information:

How to watch…

If timing works for you, it might be worth tuning on the event on Saturday. For people in Australia, this may mean 2am Sunday start! It is steamed live from the LEGO House in Billund on YouTube and if you miss it, you can watch it later. Note that it is not specifically targeting adult fans, but kids and families alike.

Best way to watch is from LEGO’s official Youtube Channel. According to the FAQ, it should last about 2 hours. Now to set the clock as reminder…

Till then, Build the Magic!
