Christmas is rapidly closing in. Only six more doors to open. Wondering what will be the first model from the seventh movie? It was a cryptic one. Read on to see what we got…
Today, we start on the last book, and the second last movie: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1.

19 December model
Behind today’s door we find a bag with quite a few pieces, though mostly small ones.

There were 25 pieces in total of which five turned out to be spares.
The actual model was somewhat complex to build from the small instructions on the back of the door. You can see how it’s built step-by-step from the photos below (click on them to enlarge the photos).

So what is it? I assume this is Sirius Black’s motorbike, which has a sidecar. Hagrid used that when the Order of the Phoenix came to take Harry Potter to safety from 4 Privet Drive ahead of his birthday. That operation involved polyjuice and a total of seven Harry Potters.
I’ve previously covered the Battle of the Seven Potter’s in this post, and have provided instructions to how to build Sirius Black’s motorbike here.

Below you can see the motorbike in action, with the flame that is featured in today’s model appearing around 1:16 into the clip.
Summary
I think it’s an interesting choice with the motorcycle/sidecar combo, but I’m not too impressed by the execution. It’s probably hard to build it in that scale though, and for that reason I’ll award it an average 3 out of 5 house points.
That was an okay start for the seventh movie, but I’m hoping for something better tomorrow. I wonder what that might be. Be sure to check back on the 2022 Advent Calendar page tomorrow to see what we got…
Till then, Build the Magic!
