December has gone incredible fast. I can’t believe we are already opening the third last door of the calendar. We haven't seen much related to Christmas though so far. Will today change that? Read on to see what we got…

REVIEW: Hogwarts First Flying Lesson
The recent wave of Harry Potter sets celebrates the 20th anniversary of LEGO Harry Potter. It includes the First Flying Lesson set, which is a larger, and much refreshed version of the 2002 Flying Lesson set. And unlike its predecessor, it includes a section of Hogwarts. Being modular, it connects up to the other Hogwarts based sets from the series. Should you get it to expand on your castle? Read on to see what you'll get...
REVIEW: Hogwarts Astronomy Tower
When LEGO revived the Harry Potter theme in 2018, it released the Great Hall set. This was the first of a series of modular Hogwarts sets, that can be combined into a large Hogwarts castle, featuring many of the important rooms within the castle. In 2020, the Astronomy tower was released in this series. Does it meet the standard set by the previous sets? Here are my thoughts...
REVIEW: Hogwarts Moments – Potions Class
Thanks to LEGO’s AFOL Engagement Team, I have had the opportunity to have a look at the new Hogwarts Moments series before they hit the shelves in January 2021. There will be four of those sets, one for each of the Hogwarts Houses, and with this review of the Slytherin book, I have covered all four. As you would expect, this is centred around a Potions Class. Enjoy…
REVIEW: Monster Book of Monsters
Since its appearance at the Shanghai LEGOLAND Discovery Centre a few weeks back, the availability of the Monster Book of Monsters set has been surrounded with mystery. But then today, when I was our doing my first LEGO display since the start of the pandemic, the store next door had just put it on its shelves for retail sale. I quickly bought one and found a quiet corner to sit on the floor to build...
The Monster Book of Monsters – new buildable book as GWP revealed
Back home again, I had just started on a post about buildable books, when pictures emerged of a new gift-with-purchase (GWP) set of the Monster Book of Monsters. It appears currently only to be available in China, but hopefully it will make its way to other regions soon! Here is what we know...
Dumbledore’s Army
My recent reviews of both the Room of Requirement set and the Hogwarts Students minifigure pack found they supplemented each other well - in particular in relation Dumbledore's Army. In this post I explore that further, creating a few extra members of Dumbledore's Army along the way...
REVIEW: Hogwarts Students
It was a pleasant surprise when LEGO recently added a Harry Potter themed minifigure pack to their range. Minifigure packs typically include four minifigures - and with four houses at Hogwarts, LEGO opted to give us a student from each of them. While we have seen plenty of Gryffindor students in previous sets, and occasional Slytherins, students from Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff have been mostly ignored. Is this enough to make this pack a must-have? Here is what I think...
THROWBACK THURSDAY REVIEW: Quidditch Match (2010 version)
I teased a while ago an upcoming review of the 2010 Quidditch Match set to compare it with the 2018 set with the same name. With work being busy, it took longer than expected to write it up, but here is finally the (Quidditch) blast from the past. Being significantly smaller than the 2018 set in terms of bricks, does it stack up well? Here are my thoughts...
Hogwarts Students
A new minifigure pack, first revealed by Brickset a few days ago, is now showing up on LEGO's website. It is part of a series of minifigure packs LEGO started releasing last year, each containing four minifigures and a small build. It is great to see them extend this series with a Harry Potter themed one, and in particular that they have included a figure from each of the four Hogwarts houses. Here is what you get...
