Already the opening scenes of the the first Harry Potter movie introduce us to number 4 Privet Drive, with Harry being left by the doorstep of the house that would become his home after the tragic death of his parents. While he hated his time there, it had some really memorable moments, and it was therefore no big surprise to see it featured among the 2020 LEGO Harry Potter sets. It is an amazing set, but with some modifications, you can make it even better. Here is how...

THROWBACK THURSDAY REVIEW: Knockturn Alley
It's no secret that I love Diagon Alley. Luckily there have been several LEGO sets released covering it over the years. I will here review one of the older ones, Knockturn Alley (Set 4720). Surely, it is dated with today's eyes, and not without deficiencies in design either. But it has a few positives aspects too that you sometimes would hope more modern sets had as well.
Diagon Alley – building the magical street in LEGO
Over the last couple of years, I've been working on a large LEGO model of Diagon Alley. It started with a custom model of the Leaky Cauldron and another of the Weasley's Wizard Wheezes shop. Realising I had two key components of Diagon Alley, I thought, why not build it all (or almost all at least)? So welcome to my Diagon Alley!
REVIEW: 4 Privet Drive
With the calendar saying August 1, the new LEGO Harry Potter sets are now finally available in North America. The sets are worth the wait though - the ones I've looked at so far have been amazing. Here I take a look at 4 Privet Drive. I have really been looking forward to this one, having built my own model earlier in the year, and I was keen to compare it with the new one. Overall, I've really impressed with the set. Read on to see why...
Adding a removable back to Hagrid’s Hut
In my review of the otherwise amazing Hagrid's Hut set in 2019 I commented on the open back, which is good for playability and doesn't detract from displays where generally viewed from the front. But for various reasons some may like to add a back to it. So last month I sat down with some extra bricks to look for solutions.
Dumbledore’s Army
My recent reviews of both the Room of Requirement set and the Hogwarts Students minifigure pack found they supplemented each other well - in particular in relation Dumbledore's Army. In this post I explore that further, creating a few extra members of Dumbledore's Army along the way...
REVIEW: Forbidden Forest – Umbridge’s encounter
In 2018 we got the Aragog’s Lair scene from the Forbidden Forest followed in 2019 by Expecto Patronum, which was also set in the forest. Now the calendar says 2020 and we are fortunately enough to get yet another Forbidden Forest set. This one brings us for the first time in LEGO both centaurs and Hagrid's half-brother Grawp, as well as a return of Professor Umbridge, who otherwise has been hard to get as minifigure. So many positives - but does the set as a whole stack up well?
REVIEW: Room of Requirement
The clock has ticked over to 1 June in this part of the world, which means in many countries the much anticipated new 2020 Harry Potter LEGO sets are now available (North America unfortunately has to wait another couple of months). I was lucky to find a few sets on a shelf early, so here is my first review of the 2020 sets. I've chosen Room of Requirement, which is the smallest of the new sets. Is it a must have set? Read on for the review...
2020 LEGO Harry Potter sets revealed
Finally, following a long period of unconfirmed rumours, LEGO has officially revealed the 2020 line-up of LEGO Harry Potter sets. And there is plenty to be excited about. As LEGO states in their press release: "discover the entrance to The Room of Requirement, lure Professor Umbridge to the Forbidden Forest, gatecrash the Ravenclaw dormitory and explore the Hogwarts Astronomy Tower. Excited? Let's have a closer look...
The Beetle – Rita Skeeter revisited
A while ago I wrote a blog post story about Rita Skeeter as part of my "make-your-own" series. I've since got a few more things to add - not least a neat representation of Rita in her animagus form. Here are the details...
