Hurrah, finally it is 1 December and the Christmas month has officially started. It is time to open the first door of the advent calendar, which I have been gazing longingly at on the shelf for so long. Was it worth the wait? Read on for my review of the 1 December model...

REVIEW: Hedwig
One surprise when the 2020 LEGO Harry Potter sets were announced was Hedwig (set 75979). This is basically a display piece, where previous Harry Potter sets (with very few exemptions, like the Brickheadz figures) were all minifigure scale play sets. I was therefore interested to see how it would stack up to other sets in the 2020 release....
REVIEW: Diagon Alley – Part 4 (Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes)
Here is part four of my review of the new LEGO Harry Potter Diagon Alley set. This concludes my review of what I think is an amazing set. Is it something for you? There are a few issues to keep in mind if you have yet to decide whether to buy or not...
REVIEW: Monster Book of Monsters
Since its appearance at the Shanghai LEGOLAND Discovery Centre a few weeks back, the availability of the Monster Book of Monsters set has been surrounded with mystery. But then today, when I was our doing my first LEGO display since the start of the pandemic, the store next door had just put it on its shelves for retail sale. I quickly bought one and found a quiet corner to sit on the floor to build...
REVIEW: Diagon Alley – Part 3 (Flourish & Blotts and the Ice Cream Parlour)
Here is part three of my four part review of the new LEGO Harry Potter Diagon Alley set. This is in many ways an amazing set, but is it all good? If you are still on the fence, read on to see what you get...
REVIEW: Diagon Alley – part 2 (Quidditch shop and Daily Prophet)
I had to do two weeks of mandatory hotel quarantine after returning to my home country from overseas. I was lucky to have the new Diagon Alley delivered to keep me occupied. This is an amazing set - one of those where you wish you can continue building forever, discovering cool details and impressive building techniques all the time. Here is part 2 of my review of this set...
REVIEW: Diagon Alley – part 1 (Ollivanders and Scribbulus)
Entering two weeks of mandatory hotel quarantine after returning to my home country, I was lucky to have Diagon Alley delivered to keep me occupied. This is an amazing set - one of those where you wish you can continue building forever, discovering cool details and impressive building techniques all the time. Here is part 1 of my review of this LEGO Harry Potter highlight of the year...
BOOK REVIEW: LEGO Harry Potter – Build your own Adventure
I haven't reviewed any books previously, though there have been plenty of LEGO Harry Potter related books released in recent years. Most of these have hardly any interesting content (for an adult fan) even when considering the rather generic minifigures included. There are a few that deserves attention though - including "LEGO Harry Potter - Build your own Adventure" from last year. Here is why I like that one...
REVIEW: Hagrid and Buckbeak Brickheadz
The big-headed Funko-pop style figures are extremely popular among pop-culture collectors and since 2016, LEGO has been tapping into that market with its Brickheadz figures. In 2018 we got three sets with characters from the Harry Potter universe, but after that nothing. It was therefore a pleasant surprise to see a new Harry Potter themed Brickheadz set pop up earlier in the month. I've now had the chance to build it. Here are my thoughts...
THROWBACK THURSDAY REVIEW: Knockturn Alley
It's no secret that I love Diagon Alley. Luckily there have been several LEGO sets released covering it over the years. I will here review one of the older ones, Knockturn Alley (Set 4720). Surely, it is dated with today's eyes, and not without deficiencies in design either. But it has a few positives aspects too that you sometimes would hope more modern sets had as well.
