While the second wave of 2019 sets are still to hit the shelves, discussions about 2020 possible LEGO Harry Potter sets have already started. Early rumours last year were very inaccurate, so rather than talk about rumours, I here provide what sets I'd like to see and why. Are your favourites among them?

75946 - Hungarian Horntail Triwizard Challenge With the first wave of the 2019 Harry Potter sets now available in North America as well, I better get on with my review of the 2019 sets. This time I'll have a look at the Hungarian Horntail set. It covers the first Tri-wizard Tournament task, which has been … Continue reading REVIEW: Hungarian Horntail Tri-wizard Challenge
Chamber of secrets
One of my strongest memories from seeing The Chamber of Secrets was the scene near the end in the chamber itself. This dark chamber, partly flooded and Harry walking between the towering pillars and walls with carved figures towards the statue of Salazar Slytherin at the far end. Here's a discussion on how it has … Continue reading Chamber of secrets
REVIEW: Hogwarts Express – 2018 version
75955 - Hogwarts Express One of the 2018 Harry Potter sets I initially thought I would give a miss was the new Hogwarts Express. I already had the three previous versions (though not the very rare motorised variant of the 2004 set) - but to be honest none of them really look that well. So … Continue reading REVIEW: Hogwarts Express – 2018 version
REVIEW: Expecto Patronum
75945 - Expecto Patronum When the 2019 LEGO Harry Potter sets were revealed, there was one set I immediately knew I had to get. It was the smaller of them all, but with a brand new patronus, two dementors and a return of Sirius Black as minifig, it had me hooked. I bought it as … Continue reading REVIEW: Expecto Patronum

Both sets should be available from August and cover the fourth book/movie: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, supplementing the Tri-wizard tournament set and the Hogwarts clock tower … Continue reading Two more Harry Potter sets coming!
Knight bus to the rescue
Last week, I wrote about my initial impressions of the new Harry Potter sets revealed to be available from 1 June. Little information about 75957 Knight Bus was available, so that got left out. Finally, I've had time to put some reflections about this set down on paper. With 403 parts and a price of … Continue reading Knight bus to the rescue
Harry Potter Advent calendar revealed
We now have an official press release for the long rumoured Harry Potter Advent calendar as well and I'm pleased to see no less than seven Minifigures are included. The set seems to be centred around minifigs and small models with furniture for a Christmas decorated Great Hall. It should be available September 1 2019. … Continue reading Harry Potter Advent calendar revealed
