Friday - almost weekend, and Christmas not far away. There are a few busy days ahead getting the house ready for Christmas, fill up the fridge with food, buy last minute presents, etc. But first the December morning ritual - sitting down opening the calendar, wondering what it may have for you today. And actually, today was a bit of a surprise...
Christmas is approaching fast and there are not many lids left to open on the advent calendar. Following the minifigure yesterday, I assume we'll get a normal model today. But what? Another table? I'm always hoping for something new - and that is what we got today...
I've made a few custom figures from existing parts. Here is another one: Percy Weasley. I'd be keen to see an official version of him (maybe in the rumoured Harry Potter Collectable Minigure Series 2), but I think I've found a good combination of hair and head piece that captures his stern appearance in the movies well.
Having recovered from my cold (mostly at least), today was a very busy work day so my review is a bit later than usual. It doesn't remove the excitement of looking into what will be revealed under today's lid in the the calendar. Compared to yesterday's model, it was a good step up. Read on to see why...
Slowly recovering from a cold, I actually had plenty of time this morning dwelling into the advent calendar. Waiting for my coffee to finish, I sad wondering what today's model might be. Would we once again get furniture for the Great Hall? Or maybe another minifigure? Once I had got the first sip of my coffee I opened the lid...
With today we're already two thirds through the calendar. Sad to think that after just another 8 days there will be no calendar awaiting you in the morning. I really hope it sold so well it will be back again in 2020. But let's focus on the positive - like today's model which was a really cool addition...
Welcome to Sunday 15 December. Yesterday was great with another minifigure to the collection. But does that mean more furniture for the Great Hall today? I'm (not so) secretly hoping for a micro-scale built, but lets see what the calendar has for use this Sunday morning...
I've previously said I prefer opening the advent calendar in the weekends, so I have more time to enjoy the models. Today has however been hectic with no less than three Christmas events I had to attend. So it was just as rushed as any normal day - but the model is one of my favorite ones so far.
With the half way mark behind us, we are sprinting towards the finish line (it feels at least so, I've so much I need to do the next few weeks). The calendar started up brilliantly, but we've stated to see quite a few repeat models. Would today give use something new and exciting? ON THE TWELFTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS - my LEGO calendar gave to me... Not going to spoil any surprises here, but I'm stunned that we are already half way through the calendar. Looking at the models we've got so far, it fills up the Great Hall well already. I hope the second half is just as good. But let's get back to today's model first...
